Services - Modifications

 

Various modifications are available e.g. Whether it's changing the connector on an AKG C28 or Rebuilding a Neumann U47.

Please Note - Any microphone, received for "Modification", is given a full examination prior to any work being carried out. Thus detecting any existing faults that might require correcting and / or incur additional costs. A report being returned to the client, prior to any work commencing.

AKG C12a, C12b

Conversion of the "Original" stand-mount type socket, for which the connectors are obsolete, to the  modern 7-pin Cannon type

 

AKG C12VR

Conversion of the "Existing" valve electronics, back to that of the "Original" C12 design. Together with various capsule options.

 

AKG C24

A "No Expense Spared" AC701k modification. Converting your C24 into a Stereo version of the Ela M250/251 (AC701k valve). Like the Very Rare "Telefunken" M270 (6072valve), only Quieter !

 

AKG C24

Using a pair of excellent, selected "Low Noise" triode valves, as an "Alternative" to the AC701k.."Extending" the LF response / "Sweeter" HF response.

 

AKG C28 series

Conversion of the "Original" stand-mount type socket, for which the connectors are obsolete, to the modern 5-pin Cannon type

 

AKG C412, C414

Conversion of the "Original" stand-mount type socket, for which the connectors are obsolete, to the  modern "Standard" 3-pin Cannon type

 

AKG "The Tube"

Conversion of the "Existing" valve electronics, back to that of the "Original" C12 design. Together with various capsule options.

 

Percy Bear 12C

Conversion of the existing electronics, being "Half of an AKG C24" stereo valve microphone, which is not the same as a C12, to that of the "Original" AKG C12 design.

 

Neumann M50

"No Expense Spared" Retro conversion from the simple, yet excellent, Decca FET electronics, back to Telefunken AC701k electronics, as used in the M50c

 

Neumann M50

"Alternative" Retro conversion from Decca FET electronics, back to valve working. Using an excellent, selected "Low Noise" triode valve, as an "Alternative" to the AC701k..

 

Neumann U47 / U48

Conversion of the "Nuvistor" 13CW4 electronics, back to VF14m working. Using the RV-14m valve.

 

Neumann U47 / U48

Modification of "Non-Standard" valve based electronics, back to VF14m working. Using the RV-14m valve.

 

Neumann U87

Up-grading "Specific" components, early U87's only, enabling the microphone to "Breath" and capture the most intricate detail.

 

Neumann Gefell CMV563

Modification of the "Original" EC92 based electronics, to Neumann U47 electronics, using the ML1955 (RV-14m) valve.

 

Neumann Gefell UM57

Modification of the "Original" EC92 based electronics, to Neumann U47 electronics, using the ML1955 (RV-14m) valve.
